Basilinna, together with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Indo‑Pacific Future Association (IPFA), launched the first U.S.–Japan Economic Strategy & Partnership Program: a weeklong, executive‑level training in D.C. for Japanese executives.

Working with current and former officials, CSIS experts, and experts, the program provides insight on how to build steady engagement across the executive branch, Congress, and key agencies; how to ensure major investments and partnerships are received politically; and how to align government affairs, communications, and business strategy.

The program also dug into “crisis communication” and what happens when an issue suddenly becomes sensitive and how preparation and clear internal decision processes give executives more room to respond. Finally, the series grounds all of this in the state and local reality where projects are approved, subsidized, and judged. Governors, mayors, and community leaders care about jobs, resilience, and visible commitment.

The companies that succeed over time are the ones that understand those priorities and invest in lasting relationships, so they are viewed as long-term partners in the communities where they build and hire.
