Abel Hibert is a Senior Fellow at Basilinna. He is a leading expert in telecommunications, technology, and economic policy in Mexico and Latin America, with more than four decades of experience across the public, private, academic, and financial sectors. Abel recently served as a Board Member of a publicly listed financial company and is a Professor and Researcher in Economics at Metropolitan Monterrey University, and External Advisor for telecommunications companies in Mexico, while contributing regularly to leading newspapers such as Reforma, El Norte, and El Financiero. His previous roles include Vice President for Public Affairs at AT&T Mexico, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of Mexico, and Commissioner and Head of Economic Analysis at the Federal Telecommunications Commission. He has also held senior financial posts at Vector Casa de Bolsa and Grupo Pulsar International, served as Director of CIEMEX-WEFA, and led academic programs at ITESM and Universidad Metropolitana, where he has taught for more than 40 years.
